Shehnaaz Gill has opened up about a painful chapter from her past, admitting she once betrayed a partner because she felt unloved and emotionally neglected.
The actress shared that the relationship lacked balance and connection, which led her to take a difficult step.
Her candid revelation has sparked wide discussion among fans about emotional fulfilment and equality in modern relationships.
In a conversation with SMTV’s YouTube channel, Shehnaaz spoke openly about her decision, saying the betrayal occurred because “the vibe wasn’t matching.”
She elaborated that relationships require mutual effort, understanding, and reciprocity.
“I have. In love. Not otherwise,” she confessed.
“I only did it because the vibe wasn’t matching. When you expect something and they don’t meet those expectations, I can’t just keep on giving.”
She explained that love should be a balance of giving and receiving, and continuing without that balance feels like wasting time.
Expanding on her thoughts, Shehnaaz said that a woman’s desire to be loved and understood is fundamental.
“A woman wants to be loved in return for her love. If someone can’t love you, then what’s the point?” she said.
She emphasised that her ideal partner should be understanding, open-minded, and independent, adding that mutual appreciation and communication are essential.
“We should be able to show our work to each other, talk without our phones, and travel together,” she noted.
The actress also discussed the importance of financial equality between partners, stressing that she values sharing responsibilities in a relationship.
“In all the relationships I have been in, I have always believed in sharing,” Shehnaaz explained.
She added that she prefers splitting bills equally, even on holidays, as it reflects fairness and independence.
“Men have a problem with this,” she said.
“They feel, ‘Why your money? I can just spend my money.’ I wonder why. Is it because they’re insecure that a woman can pay for herself? I am very particular about these things.”
On the professional front, Shehnaaz Gill was last seen in the Punjabi film Ikk Kudi, directed by Amarjit Singh Saron.
The film features Nirmal Rishi, Harby Sangha, and Udaybir Sandhu in pivotal roles.
It also marks Shehnaaz’s debut as a producer under her own banner, Shehnaaz Gill Production, further expanding her creative ventures in cinema.
