The actor, who won widespread acclaim for Sound of Metal and has since taken on varied roles across Hollywood, continues to embrace his evolution as a performer.
Alongside his magazine feature, he recently opened up about his private life, confirming he and Fatima are now parents.
Speaking during a conversation with Club Ciné about his latest thriller Relay, Riz Ahmed was asked what role he is proudest of.
He responded: “Being a father. Because it’s not about me.”
Although he did not disclose the age or gender of their child, Ahmed’s reflections revealed how family has transformed his perspective.
He said: “You know, at this point, anything that I do, as an artist, is facilitated by the support of my wife.
“So, it’s definitely kind of made me realise the extent to which the people closest to you are actually the co-authors of your work.”
Riz and Fatima first met in 2018 at a Brooklyn café while he was preparing for Sound of Metal.
The pair later married in an intimate ceremony in 2020 and have since maintained a low profile when it comes to their family life.
Despite their private approach, Ahmed’s recent comments shed light on how his wife and child have become central to his journey.
