"We wanted to execute them perfectly."
Pinik, a psychological thriller starring Ador Azad and Shobnom Bubly, is now targeting an Eid-ul-Azha 2025 release, following a delay.
Initially set to hit theatres during Eid-ul-Fitr, the film’s release was pushed back due to unfinished post-production work, particularly visual effects and music.
Director Jahid Jewel confirmed that although shooting wrapped up on time, the team needed additional time to complete the demanding VFX sequences.
He explained: “Our film involves significant VFX work, particularly in underwater scenes. We wanted to execute them perfectly.
“Rushing to finish before Eid would have compromised the quality.”
The film, produced by Euro Bangla Entertainment with co-producer Shimul Khan, had its first-look poster revealed in November 2024.
Since then, anticipation has been building steadily, especially with its shift to Eid-ul-Azha, a festival that often sees major film releases.
Jewel emphasised their decision was driven by the desire to meet artistic standards, not simply to meet a calendar date.
“To present the film as we envisioned, we needed more time.”
The cast of Pinik includes a strong ensemble of seasoned actors alongside the lead pair.
Names like Ali Raj, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Azad Abul Kalam, Momena Chowdhury, and Masum Basher add depth to the project.
Supporting performances by Samu Chowdhury, Sharif Siraj, AK Azad Setu, Keya, and Bindu round out the lineup.
The film is expected to be submitted to the Film Censor Board by mid-May 2025.
Promotional efforts will begin shortly beforehand, with a carefully timed campaign.
Jewel disclosed: “We have a unique promotional plan.
“The pre-teaser will offer a glimpse of what’s to come.”
That teaser is slated for early May 2025, followed by the release of full teasers, posters, songs, and the official trailer.
Interestingly, Pinik will release alongside another Ador Azad film, Togor, during Eid-ul-Azha.
Jewel downplayed any concerns about market competition, saying:
“There is no issue here. If the story and execution are good, audiences will accept the films.”
He pointed to past Eid seasons where multiple films starring the same actor found success simultaneously.
To avoid promotional bottlenecks, the Pinik team plans to record advanced video content with the cast. Jewel remains confident.
“Pinik is a mystery and psychological thriller. The screenplay will transport viewers into a world of intrigue.
“We are confident that audiences will enjoy the film.”
With its ambitious production and genre-bending narrative, Pinik is shaping up to be a standout release of Eid-ul-Azha 2025.
