Paul Chowdhry has said he was attacked by “thugs” while in his car in London, reassuring fans he is alright.

The comedian had received messages from someone who said they saw him being attacked on July 15, 2022.

This led to the 47-year-old revealing that it was him being attacked.

Paul said he was on New Oxford Street when the incident happened.

One person messaged Paul: “Hey Paul was that you at new Oxford street? Looked like some thugs tried to attack you.”

The second message read: “I did send the police who were a few cars behind but I think you drove off by then.”

Paul then confirmed that he had been the victim of an attack.

He said: “I was attacked in my car yesterday in London, I’m fine and will update you as I can.”

Fans expressed their concerns, with Loose Women panellist Judi Love commenting:

“Omg hope your okay hun xxx.”

One concerned fan said: “Hope you’re ok Paul. God bless.”

One fan said: “Oh no Paul. I hope you’re ok under the circumstances and sending virtual hugs to you.”

Another wrote: “Damn bro, so sorry to hear about this, hope you’re ok.”

A third said: “As long as you’re ok that’s the main thing.”

A comment read:

Despite the attack, the Met Police have said that no incident has been reported.

This is not the first time that Paul Chowdhry has said that he has been attacked.

He previously spoke about the prejudice that his father faced in the 1980s and how he was subjected to racially motivated violence, which is something he has also experienced.

Speaking to Gaby Roslin on her podcast, Paul revealed that his father had been attacked with a knife during one serious incident.

Paul previously said: “He took quite a few stitches to the face.

“There was a knife attack, the people were never caught. But he got on with it, he never held grudges.”

Paul went on to reveal that he had experienced similar violence. He said:

“I’ve been attacked, lots of stuff has happened to me, but you can’t let it affect you, you know it’s a part of human nature, some of the darker sides.”
