A Pakistani man is looking for his fourth wife even though he is still married to the three others. What makes this even more bizarre is that his three current wives are helping him look for his fourth spouse.
Twenty-two-year-old Adnan is a resident of Sialkot in the Pakistani province of Punjab and has three wives.
He first got married when he was a 16-year-old student. His second wedding happened when he was 20 and in 2019, he tied the knot again.
Adnan revealed that his three wives are helping him look for another spouse.
He said that his wives have names beginning with the letter ‘S’ and that his next wife should have a name which starts with the letter ‘S’ also.
His wives are named Shumbal, Shubana and Shahida.
Shumbal has three children while Shubana has two. One of Shubana’s children has been adopted by Shahida.
Adnan stated that he is “lucky” for having three wives.
Marriages can have ups and downs and this can include arguments. According to the three wives, their only complaint is that they believe that Adnan does not pay enough attention to them.
When it comes to household chores, the Pakistani man revealed that his wives take turns to look after him.
One cooks for him, another washes his clothes while the third polishes his shoes.
He stated that he loves his three wives equally and the feeling is reciprocated.
Adnan explained that the monthly expenses range between Rs. 1 Lakh (£480) to Rs. 1.5 Lakh (£720) every month.
While the expenses seem like a lot, Adnan said that it is no issue. He revealed that his fortunes took a turn for the better after his first marriage.
He currently lives in a house with six bedrooms, a drawing room and a storeroom.
While Adnan is happily married to three wives and they fully support him in finding a fourth, many cases of multiple marriages do not end well.
In one case in India, a former soldier went on the run after he was found to have three wives.
Ajit Madar first got married in 2011, however, he had an affair with another woman and later married her.
His first wife learnt of the marriage and complained to the Central Reserve Police Force. This resulted in him being sent on leave.
While on leave, he met a female politician who said she could help him resolve his dispute with his other two wives. They ended up falling in love and got married.
The first wife learnt about the third marriage and filed a police complaint but Madar went on the run.
