"Is she a smoker? It's the only explanation."
Narinder Kaur tweeted about Princess Catherine and asked why she has “aged so much”, causing controversy.
In a now-deleted tweet, the TV presenter shared a Daily Mail article about the Princess of Wales’ attendance at a Remembrance Sunday memorial service.
But Narinder’s attention was on her appearance as she asked:
“Genuine question – why has Kate aged so much? Isn’t she only 42?
“Is she a smoker? It’s the only explanation.”
Narinder’s tweet sparked outrage, with many accusing her of being insensitive as the princess continues her cancer treatment.

This prompted Narinder to follow up:
“Ok. Seems people took this the wrong way. It was a genuine ask.
“My brother had chemo. He didn’t age. He died. Apologies if it was insensitive or just plain wrong. Hands up. I’m sorry.”
However, the backlash continued as one user wrote:
“I’m not a monarchist, but I find this SO revolting.
“Catherine looks her age because she is 42, has experienced a full quota of joy and pain – and hasn’t had plastics injected into her face.
“Shame on you @narindertweets for attempting to pathologise the ageing process. Some woman!”
Another said: “You went for her looks, you stated your brother had chemo and didn’t age, or similar.”
Some netizens hoped Narinder would get cancer and according to her, she became the victim of racist abuse as she said:
“I’ve been attacked so viciously. Racist disgusting mysgony. They weren’t bothered about Kate! They wanted ANY excuse to attack me. Any.”
Other X users accused her of attention-seeking while some even referenced the upskirting ordeal she endured earlier in 2024.
In another tweet, she highlighted the racist abuse she received as a result of her tweet.
“I have never been proven more correct about the racial abuse on this platform than today. I put out a tweet about AGEING. AGEING!!!!
“And all you disgusting racists came at me like I’d killed kids. You utter sick f***s. AGEING??!?!”
“You don’t care about Kate. You don’t give one s**t. You just wanted to hang me. Well… you just gave me the best Sunday ever.”
On November 11, 2024, Narinder Kaur posted a video talking about the matter and admitting it was a “stupid tweet”.
She said: “My intention was not to be malicious or nasty.”
Narinder apologised to those who felt offended but stated that she received a spate of “sexual, racial, violent abuse” from nationalist accounts.

She hit out at those for attacking her, accusing them of using her tweet as an opportunity to dish out abuse.
