Mamta Kulkarni’s return to India came after the Bombay High Court gave her a clean chit in a drug smuggling case.
In 2016, she was named as one of the suspects involved in an international drug racket, alongside her husband Vicky Goswami.
Despite the serious nature of the case, Mamta continued to maintain her innocence.
The drug case, which had attracted massive media attention, had undoubtedly impacted Mamta Kulkarni’s career, causing her to step away from the limelight.
Interestingly, Mamta’s return to Mumbai came shortly after the theatrical re-release of her iconic film Karan Arjun.
The film featured Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in their first-ever pairing.
