“You are stereotypically annoying.”

The trailer of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has been released, offering a vibrant look at a modern romantic drama led by Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.

The film combines humour, scenic luxury and emotional conflict, positioning itself as a contemporary take on the classic Bollywood love story.

It introduces Kartik as Rehaan (Ray), an LA-based NRI.

Ananya plays Rumi, a bestselling author with firm views on love, independence and marriage.

Their first encounter is tense, setting up a sharp, opposites-at-odds dynamic.

The trailer opens with intimate moments between the two leads, anchored by Kartik’s voiceover:

“Some say, ‘think about the future’, others say ‘follow the past’. I believe… be in the moment. Here… right now. Just the two of us.”

What follows is a chance meeting that escalates when circumstances force them to share a yacht during a holiday.

Their confined proximity fuels witty exchanges and visible friction, drawing comparisons to films like Chalte Chalte and Hum Tum.

Rumi quickly establishes her irritation with Ray, telling him: “You are stereotypically annoying.”

Despite the hostility, the trailer hints at an emotional pull neither character can ignore.

As the narrative unfolds, the film shifts beyond holiday romance.

The second half of the trailer explores deeper questions around commitment, personal ambition and marriage.

It also touches on societal expectations, including the idea that women are expected to make the bigger sacrifices after marriage.

Ray says: “Marriage, giving away the daughter, and… farewell. A girl is expected to leave behind her entire life in an instant.

“But why should it always be the girl who leaves her home?”

Rumi makes her stance clear: “I am not where you are currently. And can never be.”

The sequences introduce heightened drama, family tensions and emotional stakes, evoking parallels with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

The trailer ends on a reflective note, asking: “But how long can you wait for your love?”

Also starring Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta, the film has attracted attention as it is Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan’s first collaboration since Dostana 2.

While Karan has not directed the project, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is produced under his banner, Dharma Productions.

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously worked with Kartik on Satya Prem Ki Katha, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri promises a sweeping romantic arc rooted in modern relationships.

The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 25.
