"I might be doing a very big South film."
Kareena Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most prominent actresses, will reportedly make her debut in Kannada cinema alongside superstar Yash in the highly anticipated film Toxic.
Speculations about Kareena’s involvement in the project had been circulating for some time.
The actress herself recently hinted at the possibility during a fan interaction.
She expressed her excitement about potentially venturing into the South Indian film industry.
During the interaction, Kareena said: “Now, like I said, I might be doing a very big South film.
“Now it’s like, all pan-India so I don’t know where I’ll be shooting, but I’m excited for all my fans to know that it’s going to be the first time that I will be doing this.”
This confirmation has sparked a wave of excitement among fans.
Toxic promises to be a cinematic spectacle unlike any other.
The film, produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, has been generating significant buzz since its announcement.
Yash, known for his iconic portrayal of Rocky in the KGF franchise, is set to embrace an anti-hero persona in this gritty tale, which is described as “a fairytale for grown-ups”.
The rumours of Kareena Kapoor joining the cast add further allure to the project.
While details about her character remain under wraps, her apparent inclusion in the film is significant.
It’s a testament to the growing trend of pan-Indian cinema.
Boundaries between regional industries are increasingly blurred.
Before Kareena’s name was associated with the project, there were speculations about other leading ladies, including Sai Pallavi and Raashii Khanna.
In an episode of Koffee With Karan, Kareena previously revealed that she would love to work with Yash.
Karan Johar asked:
“Which south actor would you like to be paired up with? Prabhas, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, and Yash.”
Kareena expressed her desire to work with Yash, declaring herself a “KGF girl”.
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan is gearing up for the release of Crew, where she shares the screen with Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, Crew is produced by Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network.
It is scheduled to hit theatres on March 29th, 2024.
Furthermore, Kareena is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, adding yet another feather to her illustrious cap.
