In a triumph that’s making headlines around the world, Jawan has catapulted its way into the annals of Hindi cinema history.

The jaw-dropping success story began with a bang as Jawan achieved the unthinkable – an opening day haul that defied all expectations.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film notched up an astounding Rs 74 crore on its inaugural day, eclipsing the previous record holder, SRK’s Pathaan, by a staggering Rs 17 crore.

Pathaan, which held the title of Hindi cinema’s most significant opening day, was overshadowed by Jawan by nearly 20%.

The impressive feats didn’t stop there.

On day two, Jawan continued its spectacular run, amassing an additional Rs 53 crore, adding to its growing domestic collection.

This remarkable two-day nett total in India now stands at an astonishing Rs 127 crore.

According to Sacnilk, a substantial portion of this total, approximately Rs 47 crore, came from the Hindi-language release alone.

What makes Jawan even more noteworthy is its ambitious pan-India release strategy, featuring dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu to cater to a broader audience base.

The film also boasts a star-studded ensemble, with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi essaying pivotal roles as the protagonist’s love interest and arch-nemesis, respectively.

Across the nation, the Hindi version of Jawan commanded an overall occupancy rate of 42%, with evening screenings accounting for a significant 70% of footfalls.

Mumbai reported a 43% occupancy on the second day, while the NCR region surged ahead with 53%.

Red Chillies Entertainment triumphantly announced that Jawan had amassed a staggering Rs 240.47 crore worldwide within just two days.

Their social media post declared: “Winning hearts and BreaKING records!”

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala echoed this sentiment, while Box Office India reported global earnings of Rs 230 crore for the film.

Projections indicate that Jawan is poised to conclude its opening weekend with a monumental Rs 500 crore worldwide, a testament to its unparalleled box office prowess.

Meanwhile, Gadar 2 felt the heat as Jawan continued to surge.

Gadar 2 crossed the Rs 510 crore mark at the domestic box office on September 8, but the film still chases the record set by Pathaan at Rs 543 crore.
