Janhvi Kapoor has broken her silence on being trolled on social media.

The actress has been subjected to trolling on numerous occasions for different reasons.

Some have criticised her outfits, accusing her of wearing skimpy clothes and trying to be like Kim Kardashian.

Others have claimed that Janhvi had undergone cosmetic surgery.

Janhvi appeared on the cover of Filmfare, wearing a bralette and semi-sheer bottoms. During her interview with the magazine, she opened up about being trolled.

She explained that she is indifferent to it but admitted that at times, she is surprised.

Janhvi said: “How do I deal with trolling on social media?

“I have become increasingly indifferent to it. But time and again, I think I’m always a little surprised and taken aback by just the double standards sometimes.

“And how bitter some people can be, but then again, it’s not a big deal.”

Janhvi added: “I hope my life isn’t very influenced by what I see on social media. That would be a very empty kind of life.”

She went on to state what she finds most difficult about being a celebrity.

“I think the most difficult part about being a celebrity is to try to keep yourself from going insane with all of the attention, all of the noise, all of the chatter, and all of the opinions.”

The celebrity lifestyle means that there is a lack of privacy, something Janhvi Kapoor acknowledged.

“I think I was doing a fairly decent job before the lockdown but then I think I got used to having my privacy back a little bit during the lockdown which was nice.

“Now that things are opening up again it’s suddenly feeling a little new to me all over again.”

“It’s an occupational hazard and a small price to pay for being able to do what I love.”

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in the likes of Good Luck JerryMili and Mr and Mrs Mahi.

In addition to trolling, Janhvi has been criticised for being a star kid, with the topic of nepotism frequently being brought up.

Speaking about the matter, Janhvi said:

“I hope that eventually my films and performances will be enough for the audiences to overlook where I come from and my lineage.

“I think that a large part of my life journey has been to try to prove to myself that I am more than just who my parents are.”
