    Pakistan’s premier entertainment channel, Hum TV inks a multi-year content deal with leading Internet TV service provider Iflix. DESIblitz reports.

    Hum TV signs Internet Deal with Iflix

    Iflix, a leading video on demand subscription platform targeting developing markets has officially announced a multi-year programming deal with Pakistan’s top entertainment channel Hum TV.

    According to the agreement, licensed content from Hum TV will be available through Iflix’s internet TV service,

    Set to debut in 2017, members of Iflix in Pakistan will get to watch their favourite dramas and serials from Hum’s comprehensive catalogue. Audiences will be entertained with popular titles such as Humsafar, Bin Roye, Udaari and so on.

    Founded in 2014, Iflix, already has a significant presence across South East Asia.

    Existing, subscribers of this platform can watch popular TV shows, movies and exclusive content on five different devices at any time or place. There is also the option to download programmes to view offline.



    Announcing this deal with Hum TV, Iflix Group Chief Content Officer said:

    “We are deeply committed to localisation, and this landmark partnership with Hum TV is a testament to that promise.

    “We are thrilled to add so many of Hum TV’s most popular and award-winning beloved, local dramas to our vast library of top international and regional content, as a part of our promise to deliver the best and widest selection of TV shows and movies from all over the world to our members.”

    Highlighting this unique partnership, Hassan Jawad, Chief Strategy Officer of Hum Network Limited commented saying:

    “Our collaboration with iflix exhibits our commitment to promoting quality entertainment content globally. As part of this commitment, we have focused on digital media to make our content easily accessible to our global target audience.

    “We are confident that iflix will prove to be a key strategic partner for us in the years to come.”

    It is not yet known whether this deal will cover programming from sister food channel, Hum Masala, along with successful fashion and lifestyle shows from the Pakistan network.

    Further announcements are expected ahead of the service launch in Pakistan.

    With the success of this deal, there is a strong possibility that other prominent TV networks from Pakistan could follow suit and collaborate with Iflix in the coming future.
