"I’m not the one crying now.”

British South Asian trio Girls Like You have released the official music video for their debut lead single, ‘Boy Bye’.

The track was released on June 27, 2025, but the new visuals add a fresh, bold energy to this confident anthem that blends English and Punjabi with attitude and heart.

The video opens with Jaya embroiled in a row with her lover, who constantly lets her down.

But as the lyrics suggest, her feelings towards him are too strong to ignore.

Her bandmates Naveena and Yasmin come to her aid and it appears as though they encourage her to forget about him if he is not treating her right.

What follows is a fierce expression of self-worth, with one lyric reading:

“I’m not the one crying now.”

The trio enjoy a road trip while the lover repeatedly tries to call Jaya to no avail, as she rejects the call.

As they return from their road trip, they see the boyfriend outside their house.

In an empowering moment, they ignore him and Jaya slams the door in his face.

‘Boy Bye’ then cuts to a nightclub setting packed with women, reinforcing the song’s message of empowerment and moving on from toxic relationships.

‘Boy Bye’ is propelled by a slick bassline and infectious beats, merging urban sounds with catchy pop hooks.

Yasmin, Naveena, and Jaya harmonise effortlessly, layering sweetness with bite. Their lyrics explore heartbreak, frustration, and self-worth with a raw honesty that resonates.

The trio’s confident body language, sharp choreography, and expressive vocal delivery create a compelling narrative of reclaiming power after heartbreak.

Each member shines in solo moments that highlight their individuality while maintaining strong group chemistry throughout.

Fans are loving the music video, as one was pleased to see a music video:

“Finally, a music video by Girls Like You.”

Another said: “Such a tune!”

Girls Like You may still be on the rise, but their popularity is quickly spanning nations as one person from India wrote: “Love from Uttar Pradesh.”

They are the first British Asian girl band and were formed through a social media search.

Yasmin, Naveena and Jaya’s chemistry clicked straightaway and it is on show in ‘Boy Bye’.
