Disha Patani has come under fire for endorsing a Pakistani fashion.

The Bollywood actress was a muse for Hussain Rehar’s Luxury Lawn SS ’24 collection.

Disha and Hussain previously worked together on a photoshoot for ELLE Magazine’s cover.

She has now modelled his brand.

The first ensemble featured a maroon-coloured salwar with a slit kameez, embellished with intricate floral designs and delicate tassel accents.

An Instagram caption read: “Disha Patani radiates allure in this stunning gradient hot pink ensemble.

“A must-have this season, its subtle monotone gradient and fresh ivory embroideries beautifully complement the rich dark base.

“Intricate embroidery along the shirt’s hem, complete with cut work edges, adds an irresistible touch of elegance.

“Paired with a matching monotone gradient on the pallu of the organza dupatta, featuring embroidered floral scrolls with intricate detailing, and a darker pink sharara adorned with embroidered borders, this ensemble epitomizes luxury and sophistication.”

For her second look, Disha Patani donned a mustard yellow kurti with voluminous sleeves.

It was paired with white palazzo pants adorned with woollen tassel embellishments.

The outfits were a far cry from Disha’s usual bold looks and some were impressed with her for wearing modest clothing.

One fan wrote: “Ufff she looks ravishing… I always wanted to see Disha in your apparel.”

However, many were annoyed over the choice to have an Indian actress promote a Pakistani brand.

On social media, fans expressed their dismay, with one asking:

“Why does it seem that Pakistani art is only dependent on India?”

Another commented: “I think they are trying to target a market outside Pakistan.”

A third added: “Were there no Pakistani models left?”
