"It shows what can be achieved"
Leicester pupils across OAK Multi Academy Trust’s primary schools have achieved SATs results above the national average in every headline measure, with the trust celebrating the efforts of pupils, staff and families.
Across the Leicestershire-based trust, 72% of Year 6 pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, compared with 63% nationally.
The results also showed that 14% of pupils reached the higher standard across the three subjects, exceeding the national figure of 8%.
Every primary school within OAK Multi Academy Trust achieved results above the national combined average, continuing a period of strong academic performance across its schools.
The latest results follow national recognition earlier in 2026, when Brookside Primary School and Manor High School received personal letters from then Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson.
The letters recognised the schools after their disadvantaged pupils achieved some of the strongest outcomes in the country during the 2024/25 academic year.
In her letters, Phillipson said the schools’ performance “places them among the very best nationally”, adding:
“This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together.”
Andrew Wilson, chief executive of OAK Multi Academy Trust, said:
“Everyone at OAK Multi Academy Trust believe children achieve most when they are known, valued and supported.
“To see our schools above the national average again, a year after that recognition from the Secretary of State, tells me that belief is well founded.”
Brookside Primary School in Oadby recorded some of the trust’s strongest results, with 85% of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
The figure is 22 percentage points above the national average.
Compared to the latest published national school data for 2025, the result would place Brookside among the top 5 to 10% of primary schools in the country.

“I am beyond delighted.
“This year group was affected by Covid more than any before them, which makes these results a real testament to their determination.”
“Our staff are passionate in wanting every child to achieve to the best of their ability, and I am fortunate to lead such a dedicated, hardworking and kind team.”
At Woodland Grange Primary School, 71% of pupils achieved the expected standard across reading, writing and maths.
The Oadby school also recorded strong higher-standard results, with 19% of pupils reaching the higher standard across all three subjects, more than double the national figure.
Headteacher Hayley Brown said every pupil had made excellent progress throughout their time at the school.
Meanwhile, Overdale Junior School in Knighton achieved results above the national average in every expected-standard measure.
The school saw 66% of pupils reach the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined.
Executive headteacher Hayley Holmes said the results reflected the resilience and commitment shown by pupils, alongside the support of staff and families.
The latest SATs outcomes highlight OAK Multi Academy Trust’s continued focus on supporting pupils to achieve strong academic results while providing a positive learning environment across its schools.
