“Diljit does not need India. India needs Diljit.”

Diljit Dosanjh’s decision to move forward with the overseas release of Sardaar Ji 3 has sparked backlash from Indian film bodies.

At the centre of this controversy is Hania Aamir, who stars prominently in the film.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association has issued a public threat against the superstar, warning of industry-wide consequences if he proceeds with the June 27, 2025, release.

They announced he would be banned from concerts and acting work in India altogether.

Despite mounting pressure and the political tensions between the two countries, Diljit dropped the trailer online.

It was confirmed that the film would release everywhere except India.

His silence in the face of rumours about Hania’s removal is now being seen as a strategic move.

Pakistani fans, however, are rallying behind Diljit and Hania.

Many have expressed shock at the hostility being directed at the Punjabi singer-actor.

A fan posted: “Diljit does not need India. India needs Diljit.”

Another added: “This is how extremists treat their own artists.”

Supporters have hailed Hania’s involvement as a bold moment for cross-border collaboration.

They are aware that she completed her work before tensions between the two countries escalated earlier in May 2025.

The reaction in India has been starkly different. Diljit Dosanjh is now being labelled a “traitor” by the same groups that once celebrated his cultural influence.

Amid the uproar, veteran Pakistani television host Nadia Khan has taken a surprising turn in her stance.

Once critical of Hania’s ambitions in India, she now praises her courage and visibility in Sardaar Ji 3.

During her show, Nadia Khan praised Hania Aamir for making a strong entry in the Indian film industry.

She also applauded the filmmakers for refusing to bow to public pressure or address the swirling rumours.

“They stayed silent, didn’t respond to any speculation, and let people believe Hania had been removed. Diljit Dosanjh also remained quiet.

“Now, the trailer is out, and Hania is everywhere.

“Meanwhile, there are calls for a ban in India, and Diljit Dosanjh is being labelled a traitor.”

While some Indian circles push for bans, others note that art has long transcended borders.

Pakistani audiences remain vocal in their support of Hania Aamir, celebrating her rising global presence and calling for recognition of her talent.

As Sardaar Ji 3 prepares for its international release, fans eagerly await to see Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir share the screen.
