“I’m buzzing to host One More Laugh."
BBC Asian Network will present a night of comedy in January 2026 with One More Laugh.
Formerly known as Asian Network Comedy, the event will take place at the BBC Radio Theatre on January 30 from 7:30 pm.
The evening is designed to lift the January mood with a live show that champions emerging acts.
The event will be hosted by comedian and content creator Dinesh Nathan, who performed at Asian Network Comedy in 2025 and returns after a well-received appearance.
The line-up features a mix of finalists, award-winners and fast-rising acts who have gained recognition across national competitions.
Ajay Rose, a BBC New Comedy Award Finalist and regular on the London comedy circuit, will appear as part of the line-up.
Dane Buckley, an award-winning comedian and writer, will also perform. He hosts the ‘Welcome to Hell’ podcast, reached the BBC New Comedy Awards 2024 final, and is known as probably the world’s only Irish-Indian, gay comedian.
NJ Patel, runner-up of The Stand-Up Club’s New Comedian Competition 2024, joins the group. His performances across the past year have made him a notable addition to the growing list of new British comics gaining momentum.
Samira Banks completes the main bill. She won ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ in 2023 and was also a finalist for Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, making her one of the most-watched emerging performers of the moment.
The night will also feature a live DJ set from BBC Asian Network’s DJ Kizzi.
Tickets for the 18+ event are free and available to apply for through the BBC Shows and Tours website until December 15 at 8:30 am.
The show will also be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds after the event.
Dinesh Nathan says: “I’m buzzing to host One More Laugh.
“I did the show before and it was a lot of fun, so I’m delighted they’ve trusted me to come back and will try not to ruin it.”
Ahmed Hussain, Head of Asian Network, says:
“I’m really looking forward to our One More Laugh show in London in January.”
“We want to continue to welcome all audiences whilst still celebrating and reflecting the vibrancy and diversity of British Asian humour and comedy so rebranding our already popular Asian Network Comedy offers a great opportunity to do this.
“I’m looking forward to a night of non-stop laughter from some fantastic up-and-coming comedians who I am certain will provide some fresh, funny and relatable content that reflects the lives and experiences of our audience and beyond.”
One More Laugh builds on Asian Network’s long-standing commitment to developing British Asian comedy.
The platform has previously supported the early careers of major names, including Romesh Ranganathan, Mawaan Rizwan, Sindhu Vee and Guz Khan.
