AP Dhillon became a top trend on Twitter on December 18, 2021, after a tweet ignited rumours of a concert in Pakistan.

The singer and rapper is best known for his hit tracks like ‘Majhail’ and ‘Brown Munde’.

A tweet surfaced in which screenshots from an Instagram handle with the name Junaid Ali Akbar claimed that they are in talks with the Pakistani government to arrange an AP Dhillon concert.

The user stated: “We have a meeting with the government officials this weekend.

“Security is the last concern. Everything else is finalised.”

Since then, rumours of the Indian singer performing in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi circulated on social media.

AP Dhillon recently took to his Instagram Story to address the reports of upcoming concerts in Pakistan.

The Indian singer dismissed the rumours and warned fans of scammers.

AP Dhillon wrote: “We have been made aware that there are scammers announcing shows/concerts in countries other than India and the United Kingdom…

“There have been no additional countries that have been confirmed for concerts by anyone on our team.”

The ‘Insane’ singer added:

“Please do not get scammed and only purchase tickets for shows that have been confirmed by us.”

Following the singer’s statement, disappointed fans took to Twitter to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “I knew it was a scam. Too good to be true.”

In other news, the Punjabi singer’s concert, scheduled to take place in Delhi’s Aerocity area, was ordered to be cancelled by the District Management Authority (DDMA).

Orders were issued by the Duty SDM who gave directions to cancel the concert due to violations of Covid-19 safety regulations. The concert was expected to attract 400-500 guests.

The organisers of AP Dhillon’s concert in Mumbai, held on December 12, 2021, were hit with an FIR as they had allegedly violated Covid-19 norms.

Many celebrities, including Sara Ali Khan, her brother Ibrahim and Janhvi Kapoor, had attended the crowded gig.
