"I hate people who smoke."
Ananya Panday was spotted smoking at her cousin Alanna Panday’s mehendi ceremony in a now-deleted picture.
The actor, who was attending the bash with her family on March 14, 2023, was seen holding a cigarette in the picture shared by one of the wedding attendees.
Though the picture was deleted later, a Reddit user had already taken a screenshot and shared it on the platform.
The picture has now become a discussion.
Many users expressed their shock and concern over Ananya Panday smoking, and a few trolled her for the same.
In the post, Ananya Panday was standing at one corner and smoking while the wedding guests gathered to celebrate.
One Reddit user shared the picture and said: “Was not expecting Ananya to be a smoker.”
Another wrote: “Meri ananya aisi nhi ho sakti (My Ananya can’t be like this).”
One more said: “Dimag toh nahi hota yinlogo ke paas. Sirf cool dikhna hai (Such people do not have brains. They just want to look cool).
Another Reddit user commented: “Crap, I didn’t know this.
“She is that beautiful and has such cute lips, can’t believe she is a smoker. Dang.”
A user said: “I am actually surprised. This is a reminder that not everything is what it seems.”
A few were concerned about her health.
One user commented: “I hate people who smoke, it’s not a gender thing.
“I am talking about the health of the person and the people around them.
“Passive smokers also have the risk of many diseases. I have less respect for them.
“These stars (have) money and power to get treatment for the disease, but most of the common folks don’t have such things.”
Many also defended Ananya Panday by suggesting not to shame her for smoking just because she is a woman.
Others who were present at the ceremony include Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Agnihotri, Chunky Panday and Bhavana Pandey.
The ceremony was hosted at Sohail Khan’s home, with Helen and Salma Khan attending it.
The pre-wedding festivities kickstarted a few days ago, with a bridal shower, which was attended by Alanna’s brother Ahaan Panday, her cousin Ananya Panday and others.
Ananya Panday wore a beautiful pastel pink lehenga, paired with a golden off-shoulder blouse.
She was seen posing with her mother Bhavana Pandey, who wore a pistachio green ethnic ensemble.
