Alia Bhatt is facing criticism for her supposed “unprofessional” behaviour during an interview for her film Heart of Stone.

Ahead of the film’s release on Netflix, Alia, along with Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, have been part of promotional interviews.

But one interview has grabbed attention.

An interview with People Magazine saw the trio asked how they balance their personal and professional lives.

Gal takes the lead and answers the question while Jamie chips in.

On the other hand, Alia remains silent and watches her co-stars talk.

She was also seen constantly playing with her fingers, hair and rings, and was unable to sit still.

Fans were quick to spot this and accused Alia of being unprofessional.

Believing she was struggling to fit in, one said:

“Alia is trying hard to fit in but failing.”

Another commented: “Alia’s body language is weird and not very professional.”

One user wrote: “Alia you are not on your couch babe.”

One comment read: “Alia just sitting there like an eye candy serving no purpose.”

A viewer pointed out that Alia’s behaviour vastly differed to other Bollywood stars when doing interviews for international projects, writing:

“Alia’s body language is not professional!

“Deepika, Priyanka, Ali Fazal, everybody has done international interviews and they are a joy to watch. Alia was bad!”

Meanwhile, some claimed that Alia Bhatt has always looked awkward during interviews.

However, not everyone agreed with the comments and some fans of the actress came to her defence and labelled the criticism unfair.

One person asked:

“Why are all the comments here attacking Alia for literally just sitting there.”

Another said: “Just Indians trying to hate their actors. Lol.”

In a previous interview, Alia Bhatt spoke about her experience working on Heart of Stone.

She said: “It was my first Hollywood big English picture experience and I had quite a task at hand because I was shooting for the first time an action movie.

“But I’m also pregnant so there were so many layers for me to deal with.

“But they made it so seamless and so easy and so comfortable for me. It’s something that I will never forget because of how beautifully and how well I was treated.

Alia’s villainous Keya Dhawan goes up against Gal’s Rachel Stone. The film releases on August 11, 2023.
