Pakistani actor Affan Waheed has addressed the swirling rumours surrounding his alleged marriage to his Pardes co-star Dur-e-Fishan Saleem.
He wasted no time in dismissing these claims as baseless and unsupported, shedding light on the truth behind the speculations.
In Pardes, Affan and Dur-e-Fishan’s on-screen chemistry made the drama very successful.
During the interview, Affan Waheed clarified that the rumours stemmed from a wedding photoshoot that he and Dur-e-Fishan did.
He explained that such scenarios often lead to misleading speculation, and he wanted to set the record straight.
“After a wedding-themed shoot with a successful on-screen partner, fake news tends to spread.”
To the disappointment of the people who shipped them, Affan Waheed made it clear that there was no truth to them.
He continued: “It was a photo shoot for a brand, nothing more than that. The drama was a hit. We do bridal shoots.
“People think we’ve gotten married. Especially on YouTube.”
He joked about how he has been married in YouTube videos multiple times with different people.
Many people who were hoping they were dating were disappointed to hear his clarification.
One of them said: “My heart is broken.”
Another wrote: “Please no!”
One commented: “Nooo. They made such a beautiful couple.”
While Affan Waheed is known for his reserved nature, he took the opportunity on Hasna Mana Hai to discuss different things.
Amongst these things were the qualities he cherishes in his friendships. He stressed the importance of having friends who can understand his moods without taking offence.
Affan said:
“My industry circle is small, but they must handle my moods without offence and be non-judgmental listeners, even when I falter.”
In addition to addressing the rumours, Affan Waheed shared interesting anecdotes from Dur-e-Fishan ‘s life. He revealed that she had received a marriage proposal during her time studying abroad.
However, concerns about her age and her mother’s reaction led her to decline the proposal.
In a surprising revelation, Waheed opened up about his own relationship status, disclosing that he recently went through a breakup.
Furthermore, Affan Waheed discussed his initial reservations about working with Dur-e-Fishan in Pardes. He explained that he had envisioned a different co-star for his role.
Dur-e-Fishan had replaced another actress and after a few days of shooting, Waheed found himself content and satisfied with Dur-e-Fishan as his on-screen partner.
