"his blood pressure and heartbeat increased massively"
Former Bollywood actor Faraaz Khan passed away in a Bengaluru hospital on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. He was 46 years old.
Faraaz, the son of late Bollywood actor Yusuf Khan, was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru in October 2020 after his prolonged cough aggravated.
His family members Farhad Abousher and Ahmed Shamoon set up a fundraising page to help with his treatment.
On the fundraiser page, it detailed the actor’s condition. It said that Faraaz had been suffering from a cough and chest infection for nearly a year.
When his condition worsened, he decided to admit himself to the hospital.
However, when the ambulance was on its way, Faraaz suffered a seizure. He suffered two more seizures before arriving at the hospital.
The page read: “Faraaz was admitted to the emergency ward of Vikram Hospital where we found out that he suffered three consecutive seizures due to a herpes infection in his brain that had spread to his chest.
“Besides, while he suffered from these seizures, he swallowed the mucus and saliva of his cough which entered his lungs and caused pneumonia in there.
“Because of this his blood pressure and heartbeat increased massively and he wasn’t able to breathe.
“He was put in the ICU care where after a series of complicated procedures and heavy antibiotics he was brought to stability.”
Filmmaker Pooja Bhatt urged people to offer financial support for Faraaz’s treatment.
It was later revealed that Salman Khan had paid for Faraaz’s medical expenses.
However, the actor passed away after spending a month in hospital.
Pooja shared the actor’s death on social media and paid tribute. She wrote:
“With a heavy heart, I break the news that Faraaz Khan has left us for what I believe, is a better place.
“Gratitude to all for your help and good wishes when he needed it most.”
“Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. The void he has left behind will be impossible to fill.”
