Twinkle Khanna revealed her opinions on sex and marriage in a recent interview. She believes that sex acts as a crucial step to maintaining a healthy and positive marriage.
The Bollywood star, married to actor Akshay Kumar, explained her thoughts during an awards event. Twinkle said about her marriage:
“I think it’s a great team. We are playing tennis doubles, and I think that’s a pretty good foundation for a marriage to last.”
The celebrity further adds: “Sex is important at every stage. The things that I find attractive in Akshay have changed over the years.”
It appears this attitude could hold the secret to a healthy, long-lasting marriage. Twinkle and Akshay have been married for 16 years.
Twinkle Khanna also stated that she wished to capture some of her husband’s characteristics. She said: “I want to emulate his calm and composed mind.”
The Bollywood star, who also works as a columnist, revealed that she shows her articles to her husband before submitting them. She explained: “He knows what resonates with people. He has a pulse on what people say and feel.”
Khanna, who has two children, one son named Aarav and one daughter named Nitara, also spoke about the influence of her children on her marriage and life. She revealed: “You experience love and pain in all its glory.”
Twinkle Khanna has turned her hand to producing in her husband’s latest movie Pad Man, which is a movie about an often “shamed” subject, such as menstruation.
Reports say the movie is based on the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who devised a cheaper way to make sanitary pads for women in his village. He sells the machine that makes the product to NGOs, to work towards women’s hygiene.
The Bollywood star also revealed more information about developing the film. She explained how she had to chase Arunachalam for roughly eight months. But, she found an instant connection with him, when they spoke and gave praise to his humorous nature.
Twinkle Khanna has addressed such “taboo” issues in the interview and in her upcoming movie.
