"the honour doesn’t get any higher."

Sunny Leone captured the spotlight at Cannes with her monochrome look.

She has attended the festival for the first time to promote her highly anticipated film Kennedy, which is the only Indian film selected for a midnight screening at the 2023 event.

On her first day, Sunny walked the red carpet in an elegant green dress.

For day two, Sunny embraced elegance in a classic black-and-white combination.

She wore a black off-shoulder crop top with a ruffled design by the renowned Gemy Maalouf. The actress paired it with sleek white trousers from BCBGMAXAZRIA.

Styled by the esteemed Ilya Vanzato, Sunny let her wavy hair cascade freely, adding an air of effortless grace to her overall look.

Her choice of nude glossy lipstick and luminous makeup perfectly complimented her sun-kissed complexion.

Kennedy is set to premiere on May 24 and ahead of the screening, Sunny Leone opened up about the “pressure of the red carpet”.

She said: “I have severe anxiety, meaning severe.

“It’s not that I have not been on the red carpet before, I think it’s (the pressure) because it is me and something much more.

“The feeling behind this particular film, the feeling that it’s been chosen by such a prestigious group of juries and that it (Kennedy) made it and they appreciated it and said, ‘Yes, we want your film to be a part of this festival.’ It just means so much more.”

Presumed dead for years, Kennedy (Rahul Bhat) is an insomniac former cop who continues to work for a corrupt system while seeking redemption.

Sunny Leone plays a pivotal character named Charlie.

Speaking about her character, Sunny said:

“She’s a little bit of a complex character and she hides behind some of her motions.”

“And one of the things she hides behind the most is this laugh. And I believe she’s a woman who’s caught in two different worlds – one is the one that she wants to live in and one is the one she has been deliberately caught up in.

“I really enjoyed playing this character. And I think she is someone who’s trying her very best to be as strong as possible at every moment of the day.”

She admitted that being at Cannes is an emotional experience.

“I want to cry every time, the feeling is so overwhelming.

“From the beginning of stepping into Bollywood and being part of the industry going through all these crazy hurdles and all this negativity and all these also very amazing things that have happened – I won’t discredit that all.

“But, at the end of the day, we’re human and after seeing all these things for so many years of people writing all sorts of crazy things – this, I believe, I don’t think they can say anything bad.

“The entire journey of what I’ve done, this is really one of the most amazing moments of my entire career – being here.

“And having my film at the Grande Theatre Lumiere theatre doesn’t get any more prestigious, the honour doesn’t get any higher.”
