The actress and singer has also stopped following Gigi Hadid, her sister Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa.
Although Selena has unfollowed Zayn, the former One Direction star continues to follow her.
It is unclear why Selena has stopped following Zayn on Instagram but it has seemingly put an end to their rumoured romance.
In March 2023, Selena and Zayn sent rumour mills into overdrive when they were allegedly spotted at a New York restaurant together.
TikTok user Klarissa Garcia explained that her friend is a hostess at a celebrity hotspot in New York City.
She shared text screenshots where the friend claimed she saw Zayn and the American singer enter the restaurant holding hands.
The message read: “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.”
Klarissa was stunned to hear the news, prompting a response from her friend:
“Girl. Everyone’s out here feeling bad for Selena. Meanwhile, she’s with Gigi’s baby daddy.”
Klarissa went on to reveal that both stars have recently started following each other on Instagram.
Rumours were further fuelled when another eyewitness claimed:
“Selena and Zayn went out in Soho in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm.
“They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurant goers didn’t notice them.
“It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date.”
Despite the apparent sighting, the stars were not spotted together in public again.
Earlier in June 2023, Selena Gomez took to TikTok to tell her fans that she was single after spending the last two months in Paris.
She said she was single, high maintenance and wanted to “mingle” with football players.
Speaking about her time in Paris, Selena expressed her gratitude for the city.
She said: “Thank you Paris for being a home to me for two months! I loved every moment. Working on this film has completely changed my life.
“I can’t wait to share more soon! Love you all!”
Amid the dating rumours at the time, one source said that Zayn’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid was unfazed.
The source said: “Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating.
“As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good co-parent to Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
