"Lovely tribute to Kapoor Saab"
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, along with other Bollywood stars, have performed one of the famous songs of the late actor Rishi Kapoor.
The actors featured in the tribute video to Rishi for Amazon Prime Video India included Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar, among a few others.
A day ahead of the release of Rishi’s last film, Sharmaji Namkeen, Amazon Prime Video shared the video that also starred Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Aadar Jain and Tara Sutaria.
They were all dressed in the same attire as Rishi Kapoor from the Karz song.
Rishi’s wife, Neetu shared the video on her Instagram and wrote: “Lovely tribute to Kapoor Saab #sharmajinamkeen.”
The video opened with Rishi Kapoor’s face and the lines “When you truly live life, you live on.”
A portion of Rishi’s original song is then shown before we see the young actors, dancing along to the song.
Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, Sharmaji Namkeen was the last film that Rishi Kapoor shot for.
Paresh Rawal stepped in to complete the portions that Rishi could not.
The film’s producer Farhan shared how they decided on Paresh:
“When we discussed that we should recast the role, Paresh Ji was on top of my list.
“There is a certain personality type to Sharmaji’s character, he is a person who can come across maybe tough from the outside but soft and emotional from inside.
“I feel there is part of Paresh Ji that matches this kind of personality.”

Sharmaji Namkeen is an Excel Entertainment Film in association with MacGuffin Pictures.
The film also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha and Isha Talwar.
Sharmaji Namkeen will premiere on March 31, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Ranbir finally addressed the rumours and speculations surrounding his wedding, admitting that he and Alia do intend to get married soon.
Although Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have known each other for years, they began dating in 2018 after they started working together on their upcoming film Brahmastra.
The two recently wrapped up the shoot of the film in Varanasi.
It will mark the first time Alia and Ranbir will share screen space.
Fans have been speculating if the couple plans to marry before the film’s release in September 2022.
Speaking to NDTV, Ranbir Kapoor said: “No rabid dog has bit me that I would give out a date during a media interaction.
“But Alia and I have all the intentions of getting married soon, so yes, hopefully soon.”
However, the actor did not reveal how soon this ‘soon’ could be.
