“This song is far better than the official ICC song."

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has collaborated with Pepsi Pakistan to release their official anthem for the ICC World Cup.

The song ‘Koi Nahi Like Us’ is nothing short of a celebration of the love of cricket, teamed up with the unity that the sport brings.

On X, the PCB shared a link to the official music video and commented:

“A celebration of Pakistan Cricket – the team, the fans, the nations and our unbreakable spirit and passion for the game!”

Social media users agreed with the sentiment of the PCB and commented their opinions under the post.

One said: “Indeed! The heart and soul Pakistan puts into cricket is unparalleled.

“The unwavering spirit, the intense passion and the nationwide unity it brings are something truly special.

“Cheers to the team and every fan out there! Let’s keep the spirit alive!”

Another added: “This song is far better than the official ICC song. It’s the best, far better than the official World Cup song.”

A third added: “So much better than the actual World Cup anthem. You guys went hard! I love it!”

The catchy and peppy song begins with the sounds of cheers from a cricket stadium.

It follows with a series of artistic shots featuring a helmet, a cheering crowd and a bat, with the iconic voice of an umpire shouting: “Bowled him”.

The viewer is then treated to a one-handed catch of the ball before the anthem begins, immediately engaging its audience with its dance music.

As the video progresses, cricketers such as Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah make an appearance.

Naseem’s appearance came despite the fact that he will not be at the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

‘Koi Nahi Like Us’ features the voices of Quratulain Baloch, Hydr and Ahsan.

The anthem is not the first song to have been released to hype up cricket fans.

Popular band Junoon has also shown their patriotism with their popular song ‘Jazba-e-Junoon’.

Vital Signs also made their mark with the popular songs ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ and ‘Hum Hain Pakistani’.

In 2003, pop band Strings also released their song ‘Hai Koi Hum Jaisa’ ahead of the World Cup that year.

Each Pakistani anthem has been a hit among fans, capturing their sentiments with their lyrics.
