"I killed my husband because I was fed up"
A Pakistani man who was married to three women was shot dead by his first wife following a domestic dispute in Karachi.
Police have said that Wali Muhammad was shot in the head by his first wife, Shaheen, killing him instantly.
It was reported that Wali divorced Shaheen in 2013 and went on to marry two other women. However, all three women lived with Wali in the same house.
A domestic issue between Wali and Shaheen led to the woman opening fire on her ex-husband.
Police arrested the woman and recovered the weapon.
During questioning, Shaheen admitted killing the Pakistani man and alleged that he used to torture her.
She told police: “I killed my husband because I was fed up with his mental torture and physical violence.”
Shaheen explained that Wali used to torture her every day, both physically and mentally.
She went on to say that her daughter ran away with a boy and Wali blamed the family for it. He allegedly had also threatened to kill her other daughters.
Shaheen also stated that Wali knew the boy with whom her daughter ran away with.
Pakistani men marrying multiple women is not uncommon and while this case ended in murder, there have been incidents where the husband and his wives live happily.
Sialkot resident Adnan lives with three wives and stated that he is “lucky” to have three wives.
He first got married when he was a 16-year-old student. His second wedding happened when he was 20 and in 2019, he tied the knot again.
Adnan’s wives all have names begin with the letter ‘S’. His wives are named Shumbal, Shubana and Shahida.
According to the three wives, their only complaint is that they believe that Adnan does not pay enough attention to them.
When it comes to household chores, the Pakistani man revealed that his wives take turns to look after him.
One cooks for him, another washes his clothes while the third polishes his shoes.
He stated that he loves his three wives equally and the feeling is reciprocated.
Adnan revealed that he is looking for a fourth wife and that her name should also begin with the letter ‘S’. He also said that his wives are helping him look for another wife.
