A Pakistani boy who was seen being tortured by a transgender Guru in a viral video has now been rescued.
A shocking video from Gujranwala surfaced, showing a transgender individual, referred to as a Guru, allegedly holding a minor boy captive.
The disturbing footage prompted widespread outrage on social media, leading to calls for immediate action against the perpetrator.
Following the video’s circulation, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau of Punjab confirmed that an investigation was initiated.
Chairperson Sarah Ahmed expressed serious concerns about the potential for sexual assault, noting that the allegations made this case particularly sensitive.
In response to the video, Ahmed and her team filed a formal complaint with local police.
The complaint included charges related to human trafficking, wrongful confinement, and child abduction.
The bureau took swift action to ensure the boy’s safety and recovery.
The boy was taken into custody by the bureau, which also registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the transgender individual.
Ahmed emphasised the bureau’s commitment to protecting vulnerable children.
She requested the Inspector General of Punjab to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspect.
The incident gained attention after fashion designer Maria B shared the video clip on social media.
The footage depicted the boy being forced to dance and follow the Guru’s commands.
He stated that the Guru brought him to various events for performances.
Maria B condemned the actions portrayed in the video, referring to the culture involved as “Qaum-e-Loot”.
She encouraged everyone to unite against such practices.
Sarah Ahmed expressed gratitude to civil society for raising awareness and demanding justice for the boy.
She highlighted the importance of community involvement in combating such abuses.
The rescued child will be cared for at the Child Protection Bureau, where he will receive education, food, shelter, and other essential services.
The bureau aims to provide a safe environment for the boy to recover from this traumatic experience.
As the investigation continues, the community is following the case closely, hoping for the arrest of the transgender Guru.
