"You’re an actress, I can’t deal with this."

Mrunal Thakur spoke about her most recent heartbreak taking place around seven months ago.

The actress revealed that her boyfriend “ran away” because he was uncomfortable with her acting profession.

She believes her ex’s views were down to his “very orthodox” family, saying that it was the way he was raised.

Mrunal added that if they got married, there could have been some tension while raising their children.

Speaking to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Mrunal said that everyone has to go through the process of heartbreak.

She explained: “In order to be with the right one, you have to be with the wrong ones first.

“You need to know what works for you and what doesn’t work.

“I don’t want to get into a relationship and then find out that we are not compatible at all.”

On what went wrong with her ex-boyfriend, Mrunal said:

“He ran away. He was like, ‘You are too impulsive, I can’t deal with this’, ‘You’re an actress, I can’t deal with this’.

“But I understand where he is coming from – a very orthodox background.

“And I don’t blame him, I think it’s his upbringing. In a way, it’s good that the chapter ended.

“Because in the future, when we raise our kids, his upbringing would not be the same as my upbringing towards my kids… The kids would be like, ‘what is happening?’”

During the interview, Mrunal spoke about another past relationship, revealing it was long-distance.

She said she allowed her boyfriend to use a dating app but admitted that infidelity is her “biggest fear”.

Mrunal Thakur elaborated: “Even if he doesn’t feel anything for me, he should come and tell me, ‘Mrunal, I am not feeling the same love as I felt before. This is what it is’.

“That is my biggest fear, the fact that my partner would be cheating on me with someone else.”

“Even if you come and tell me… I have been in a long-distance relationship where I was absolutely okay if my partner is on Bumble.”

When asked why, Mrunal replied: “I think I am very different in this case and it was very difficult for my boyfriend then to digest also.

“But it’s also needed. I am not able to travel to Europe all the way. The only thing I can offer at that point in time is emotional, verbal communication.

“That’s it, that’s all I have. I was okay. I said, ‘Just don’t tell me but when I am with you, I am with you’.

“It was at that point of time, maybe I am not okay now.”

Mrunal stated that she would be fine with her boyfriend going on a date with another woman but would not want him to “make it a habit”.

On the work front, Mrunal Thakur will next be seen in Jersey, a remake of a Telugu film of the same name, opposite Shahid Kapoor.

But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film’s release has been indefinitely postponed.
