The groundbreaking drama, which was released in 2019, took the world by storm and very quickly became Pakistan’s most-watched drama of the year.

The final episode attracted over 70 million viewers in Pakistan.

It is now set to make its way to India. Meray Paas Tum Ho will be broadcast on Zindagi Official on August 2, 2023.

Fans were quick to speak of their excitement and thanked the channel for bringing back Pakistani content to their television screens.

One comment read: “Best drama written ever. Don’t compare it with any other. It is class.”

Meray Paas Tum Ho became so popular that the decision was made for the last episode to be screened in cinemas across Pakistan.

The decision was met with mixed reviews as some argued they could not afford the prices of cinema tickets.

The drama proved popular not only because of its storyline, cast ensemble, direction and dialogue, but also because of the mesmerising title track, which was sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Meray Paas Tum Ho starred Humayun Saeed, Ayeza Khan, Adnan Siddiqui and Hira Mani.

Writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was praised for his dialogue delivery for this drama, which was considered a masterpiece.

It was considered to be Qamar’s best project to date.

Meray Paas Tum Ho revolves around the married life of Mehwish (Ayeza Khan) and her husband Danish (Humayun Saeed).

Mehwish is a money-hungry woman who is unsatisfied with the lifestyle her husband offers her.

The story unfolds when she meets Shehwar (Adnan Siddiqui) at a wedding and begins an affair with him, resulting in her walking out on her husband and young son Roomi (Shees Sajjad Gul).

Adnan Siddiqui was widely recognised for his portrayal of Shehwar and child actor Shees was complimented for portraying beautifully the emotions of a young boy whose mother has left him.

While Meray Paas Tum Ho continues to make waves, a viral video showed two schoolboys singing the title track.
