The second season of Netflix’s hit thriller Delhi Crime is set to release soon and the official trailer has been released.
Shefali Shah returns as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, aka ‘Madam Sir’, leading another crucial investigation.
This time, she and her team are pursuing a gang of killers who are targeting and brutally murdering Delhi’s elderly.
In the trailer, DCP Chaturvedi tells her team:
“It’s something you will never see in your entire police career.”
The police follow the trail and arrest many suspects, but the murders continue. The trailer ends with DCP Chaturvedi pointing a gun at someone.
In addition to the investigation, the police struggle with staff shortages and an overall increase in crime.
Delhi Crime is inspired by true events and is directed by Tanuj Chopra.
Tanuj said: “This season investigates the moral code of the Delhi Police.
“DCP Vartika Chaturvedi and team have evolved from the previous season.
“We’ll see them weigh a lot of difficult choices… be it procedural or emotional.”
Shefali said: “I love every character I’ve played but DCP Vartika Chaturvedi will always be super special.
“And I’m so proud of the role and Delhi Crime as a show. It’s my favourite. And so is she.

“This season, the audience will see a human and vulnerable side of these seasoned police officers. I can proudly say this, Delhi Crime is a reflection of our passion for storytelling and the craft and we can’t wait for the audience to watch it.”
Reacting to the trailer, fans were eagerly awaiting the new series.

The show also stars Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Rasika Dugal, and Gopal Datt, among others.
The first series was based on Delhi Police’s investigation of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape.
Delhi Crime became the first Indian web series to win an International Emmy.
The second season will release on August 26, 2022.
