Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have shared the music video for their dance number ‘Thumkeshwari’ from their upcoming film Bhediya.
The peppy track was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Sachin-Jigar, Rashmeet Kaur and Ash King.
Sachin-Jigar also provide the music for the song.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak play Varun’s friends in the film and are seen dancing in the song.
‘Thumkeshwari’ features Kriti looking gorgeous as always in a pink ensemble shaking her hips.
A mesmerised Varun briefly watches on before joining in on the fun.
Wearing a red shirt, the pair groove together in a grand setup with several background dancers.
Varun is seen holding and dancing with Kriti’s dupatta, which is similar to Salman Khan’s moves in ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ from the film Kick.
In that song, Salman danced with Jacqueline Fernandez’s skirt clenched in his teeth.
Fans loved the upbeat track and the sizzling chemistry between Varun and Kriti.
One said: “The lyrics, the beats, the moves, also it’s an original song after so long, and Varun and Kriti’s chemistry and the moves, oh God.”
Another said: “The way she was so perfect in the song I’m obsessed!!”
The item track upped the ante with a surprise appearance from Shraddha Kapoor.
Wearing red, Shraddha is only on-screen for a short amount of time but her presence is felt.
She is seen taking Varun away before mysteriously disappearing as Kriti returns.
It has left fans wondering if Shraddha will have a bigger role to play in Bhediya.
The film is the third instalment in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe after 2018’s Stree and the 2021 film Roohi.
Shraddha had a major but unnamed role in Stree.
Following her cameo in ‘Thumkeshwari’, fans speculate that she might be reprising her role as the unknown woman.
Speaking about the track, Varun said:
“Thumkeshwari is a number that’s tailor-made to burn the dancefloor.
“I thoroughly enjoyed performing to its funky tune. The song’s lyrics are a catchy delight, and I am sure fans are going to have a gala time dancing to the track.”
Sachin-Jigar agreed with Varun’s comments, saying:
“Thumkeshwari exudes the kind of fun and enjoyable vibe that Bhediya is all about.
“With an addictive tune, thumping beats and catchy lyrics, this is a song tailor-made for the dance floors.”
Kriti added: “I had an absolute ball shooting for Thumkeshwari.
“I was sharing screen space with Varun after a very long time and we have never worked on this kind of a grand track together.
“This was quite the memorable experience.”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, it follows Bhaskar (Varun) who is bitten by a wolf and becomes a werewolf. Kriti plays Dr Anita.
The film is expected to release on November 25, 2022.
