"Makeup has been an innate part of my journey"
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has been accused of copying Kim Kardashian in her recent photoshoot for her upcoming beauty line.
Katrina is set to launch her makeup line, Kay by Katrina, on October 22, 2019.
Her products include matte lip crayons and lip liner pencils, which will be available in an array of colours.
She shared her delight and a sneak-peak of her products in an Instagram video. She captioned it:
“It’s finally ready … Arriving October 22, 2019.”
Katrina continued to mention how she held this dream for a beauty line two years ago. She said:
“Two years ago, I dreamt of creating a beauty line. So, excited to finally share it with you … Can’t wait. And it’s all on @kaybykatrina.”
There is no doubt that makeup is a big part of her life. Katrina Kaif went on to state:
“For so long as I can remember, makeup has been an innate part of my journey – from the runway to the big screen, and now I have rendered my love for it to Kay Beauty, my first ever Beauty Brand!”
It is evident that wearing makeup for hours on end is not great for the skin. Katrina highlights how she has created a brand that caters to both elements. She explains:
“I’m always on the clock, always on the run, with endless shoots that involve me wearing makeup all the time. As much as I love the look and feel of it, I do wish my skin felt as comfortable, as I did wearing it.”
Katrina describes her brand as “a bridge between high glamour and care.”
To promote her products, Katrina appeared in a photoshoot which sparked allegations of the actress copying Kim Kardashian.
Fans were quick to spot similarities between their photoshoots and claimed Katrina seemingly took much inspiration from the reality star.
Kim Kardashian has also promoted her makeup collaboration with model Winnie Harlow, KKW X Winnie Collection.
The Instagram account, Dietsabya, bought the resemblance to attention by posting both promotional pictures side by side. The post was captioned:
“Gandi art direction or coincidence? Choose one.”
On the work front, Katrina Kaif last appeared in Bharat (2019) alongside Salman Khan.
She will next be seen on the big screen in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh. The film is due to release on March 27, 2020.
Katrina Kaif certainly has her hands full with her upcoming film and makeup line. Despite the comparisons with Kim Kardashian, we wish her all the best with this endeavour.
