"Ayan did not know what was going to come."
War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood films.
It serves as the sixth instalment of the popular YRF Spy Universe and is a sequel to Siddharth Anand’s War (2019).
Millions of fans are looking forward to seeing Hrithik and Jr NTR face off in War 2. The film is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji.
Jr NTR recently recalled a disagreement with Ayan over their contrasting working styles.
The actor said that he had a habit of being spontaneous, while Ayan preferred to prepare.
Jr NTR also added that the producer, Aditya Chopra, stepped in to settle the altercation.
He said: “Too much of prep doesn’t give you the chance to explore yourself.
“South Indian film sets have always been chaotically organised.
“Like, if the prints have to go tomorrow, the team will still ask for one extra hour because they want to make some changes in the edit.
“The clock is ticking; the prints have to be delivered, but you’re still working on the film.
“You are shooting for a crazy sequence tomorrow, but everybody is so chill, we are not prepping at all. We know what needs to be done.
“I think it is the chaos which brings a great amount of organisation and somewhere that makes us more instinctive as artistes.
“This was the experience I had with Hindi cinema also. When I was shooting for War 2, Ayan did not know what was going to come.
“Because he was trying to bring it out from me, that how is this going to come out.
“I told him, ‘Ayan, I am very instinctive – something will come’.
“Now, he is not used to doing this at all – he loves prep and I am completely the opposite.”
“And then Aditya Chopra was there in between, who said, ‘It’s OK, it’s OK, I get it’.”
Hrithik Roshan recently took to Instagram to treat fans to a picture of War 2 shooting locations.
One fan commented: “Cannot wait to watch you kill in this one.”
Another user said: “Excited to watch War 2.”
Hrithik’s girlfriend, Saba Azad, wrote: “My love.”
War 2 is scheduled to be released in 2025 and also stars Kiara Advani.
Meanwhile, before War 2, Jr NTR will star in Devara.
Ayan Mukerji has previously helmed hits including Wake Up Sid (2009), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva (2022).
