"our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine!"
On September 4, 2023, Jasprit Bumrah announced that he and his wife Sanjana Ganesan became parents to a baby boy.
The Indian cricketer had left the Asia Cup ahead of his side’s Group A match against Nepal for “personal reasons”.
It is now revealed that it was due to the birth of his first child, named Angad.
Jasprit shared a black-and-white photo of the trio’s hands.
He captioned the post:
“Our little family has grown and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine!
“This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world.
“We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it.”
Celebrities took to the comments section to congratulate the new parents.
Actress and Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma wrote:
“Congratulations.”
Jasprit’s teammate Dinesh Karthik opted for a humourous comment, writing:
“Many congratulations for the baby boy, Angad! Now mastering the Yorker won’t be enough, gotta be a master of diaper changes too.”
Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara commented:
“Congratulations to you and Sanjana on your bundle of joy. Welcome to the club.”
Surya Kumar Yadav said: “Congratulations to both of you.”

Although Jasprit Bumrah left the Indian cricket team to be with his wife, he has reportedly told the BCCI that he will return to Sri Lanka for the tournament as soon as he can.
Jasprit and television presenter Sanjana have been married since March 2021.
Their wedding was a low-key affair, with a private ceremony held in Goa.
The couple kept their relationship quiet, with just a few close friends knowing about it.
Speculations about their relationship initially began circulating when Jasprit was released from the squad prior to the fourth Test match between India and England in Ahmedabad.
A few days later, their wedding photos flooded the internet and went viral.
Unfortunately, Jasprit Bumrah’s teammates were unable to participate in the celebration due to the strict bio-bubble restrictions in place during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since their wedding, the couple has shared pictures together.
Sanjana even conducted an interview with her husband during India’s tour of England in 2022.
Jasprit Bumrah experienced a setback with a stress fracture in his back, sidelining him from competitive cricket for an entire year. The Asia Cup marks his return to competition.
