"How desperate do you have to be?"
Dhruv Rathee addressed online claims that his wife Julie is Pakistani.
The YouTuber – who boasts a following of over 18 million subscribers – took to social media to share his thoughts on the rumours.
Writing on X, Dhruv Rathee said: “They have no answer to the videos I made so they’re spreading these fake claims.
“And how desperate do you have to be to drag my wife’s family into this?
“You can also see the disgusting moral standard of these IT Cell employees.”
Dhruv also shared viral screenshots on his Instagram profile and wrote:
“How desperate do you have to be to drag my wife’s innocent family into this?
“You can see the disgusting moral standard of the IT Cell.
“They have no answer to the questions I raised in my videos.
“They’re completely rattled! They’re getting more shameless day by day regarding the lies they spew.
“For the record, I’m obviously 100% Indian and my wife is 100% German.”
The screenshots shared by the YouTuber suggested that Dhruv was also against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was “cloaking” as a Hindu.
The message read: “Breaking news about Dhruv Rathee who runs the anti-Modi, anti-BJP, anti-RSS, and anti-Sanathan canard (there is no Maheshwari), cloaking as a Hindu.
“His real name is Badru Rashid, full name being Badruddin Rashid Lahori.
“He was born in Lahore, Pakistan and his wife Julie (Christian-sounding name) is also a Pakistani.
“Real name is Zulaikha. They live in notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s secret alishan bungalow in Karachi where Y+ and Z+ security of ISI and the Pakistani army is provided to them.”
The screenshot also had a tag attached to it which said: “Fake”.

Many fans supported Dhruv on Instagram.
Underneath the post, one fan commented: “I will always support Dhruv Rathee.”
A second wrote: “How confidently they spread hoax news! Like seriously!”
A third added: “Bringing his wife into this?? That’s so WRONG.
“Doesn’t matter if you support what he says or not, this is definitely out of line.”
The internet celebrity generated controversy on his channel in relation to Indian politics.
However, this is not the first dispute in recent times to follow a South Asian YouTuber.
In April 2024, a nude deepfake clip of Ducky Bhai’s wife circulated online.
The online personality offered PKR 1 million (£2,800) for identification of the perpetrator.
