“Inquiries are ongoing to locate three identified people"

An international manhunt and a murder investigation are underway after the body of 10-year-old Sara Sharif was found at an address in Woking.

Sara’s body was found at the property in Horsell village in the early hours of the morning on August 10, 2023.

It is believed that the three suspects fled the country after booking a one-way flight to Pakistan before Sara was found, and it was later confirmed that the three were known to the victim.

They have not yet been named.

Although a post-mortem was due to take place, it has not yet been revealed what Sara’s cause of death was.

A police spokesman commented: “Inquiries are ongoing to locate three identified people we would like to speak to in connection with our investigation into the death of a 10-year-old girl in Woking.

“Detectives have confirmed that no other people were present at the address when they attended in the early hours of Thursday morning.

“The three people they would like to speak to were known to the victim.”

A travel agent said he was contacted by an individual who requested tickets to Pakistan for three adults and five children.

There is no formal extradition treaty between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, which means if someone is charged in the UK but flees to Pakistan, Islamabad authorities are not obliged to send them back.

Sara’s heartbroken mother, Olga Sharif, said that she learnt of her daughter’s death after she received a phone call from a police officer, as she did not have custody of Sara.

She claims that she had noticed a change in Sara’s behaviour and habits after she had moved in with her father.

Following the break-up of their marriage, Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, was given full custody of her and her 13-year-old brother.

Olga said:

“My life will never be the same again. Sara should be with me right now. She was too young. Sara was an amazing child.”

Sara was described as a sweet girl by neighbours and flowers were left outside the house where she was found.

One neighbour said that the neighbourhood was pretty normal and that there wasn’t much activity in the area.

The neighbour also said that Sara often helped look after her younger siblings.

Another local resident stated: “The area is very peaceful.

“It is busy during term time with children walking to and from. But it’s a lovely, vibrant place, normally.”
