An Indian man murdered his own sister in an attempt to avoid punishment for a gang-rape.

Ankit Chaudhary, of Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, was one of the accused in the gang-rape case of a minor Dalit girl, which happened on Monday, January 18, 2021.

However, to escape the rape charges and in a bid to lodge a counter-case against the gang-rape victim, Chaudhary made the decision to kill his elder sister Neha.

The 21-year-old planned to use his sister’s murder to falsely implicate the minor victim’s family.

The murder took place on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Ankit Chaudhary’s 24-year-old sister Neha was an MBA aspirant. She had been living in Delhi’s Lakshmi Nagar area for the past four years.

Police found her body in Amroha’s Peergarh area on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

In relation to the gang-rape case, Chaudhary and his cousin Akshay were accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a minor Dalit girl.

Both were charged with gang-rape, and were also charged under sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

However, to try and avoid facing his charges and a subsequent prison sentence, Chaudhary planned a conspiracy to kill his sister Neha and frame the minor girl’s family in the murder case.

On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Chaudhary told his sister that he and the rape victim’s family wanted to settle matters. He also said he needed her to be at the meeting.

Chaudhary booked a car and picked his sister up from Delhi before heading towards Amroha.

Once there, they walked to a secluded spot where Chaudhary strangled his sister until she collapsed.

He then repeatedly struck her with a brick, killing her instantly.

Ankit Chaudhary then left, dumping her clothes in some nearby bushes and hiding out at a relative’s house.

Police soon recovered Neha’s clothes during the investigation of her murder.

Her identity cards were found next to her, as well as a brick covered in bloodstains.

During their investigation, police found CCTV footage of the Indian man leading his sister to the murder spot on the day of the crime.

Chaudhary was then taken in for questioning. He first tried to mislead the police by pretending to cry at the sight of his sister’s body.

However, he later confessed to her murder and was remanded in custody.
