"India is not for Indians also!!”

A puja ritual took an unexpected turn when a man cracked a coconut on his head and fainted seconds later.

The incident was captured on camera and ignited a debate.

The footage shows the man entering a room chanting a mantra and holding the coconut.

As worshippers chanted, the man raised the coconut and smashed it against the top of his head.

The coconut cracked open on impact. However, it appeared to have taken a toll on the man as he walked back into the other room before collapsing.

The viral video led to many expressing their amusement in the comments section.

A few sarcastically praised the man’s “dedication” to the puja.

One said: “Operation success but patient death.”

Another joked: “He sacrificed himself to prove that he’s God’s child.”

A third added: “India is not for Indians also!!”

One comment read: “Haha. How stupid are these people?”

Some laughed at the fact that there was a delay between the man cracking open the coconut and him fainting.

One user wrote: “Bro took two business days to shut down.”

Another stated: “Bro pressed the power switch.”

A netizen said: “Bluetooth disconnected successfully.”

Joking about the man’s state, one said:

“That was the day when two coconuts were broken.”

One comment that was posted read: “Bro won but at a cost.”

A user shared: “Bro’s head is made up of titanium.”

However, others did not see the funny side.

Some criticised the dangerous practice while others wondered why such bizarre incidents only happen in India.

Other viewers even thought the video was staged.

One said:

“Bro, I saw the video in slow motion by mistake. This coconut is already split.”

This ignited a debate over whether the video was faked.

One user claimed that breaking coconuts during puja ceremonies is common in Tamil Nadu, writing:

“Everyone in TN knows this is not a cheap gimmick. There’s a well-known ceremony in TN where they break coconuts on the heads of devotees.”

But people were unsure about the netizen’s defence of the video, with one posting:

“Drama, the coconut was already opened.”

Another agreed: “But it’s already cracked.”

Other sceptics pointed out that the coconut water did not come out upon impact, only after the man dropped the coconut on the floor.
