"How was there a no ball at Lord's?"

Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Amir got into a heated exchange on Twitter, following Pakistan’s triumph over India.

October 24, 2021, saw Pakistan defeat India by 10 wickets at the T20 World Cup.

Celebrations and discussions followed the match.

On Twitter, Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh and former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Amir got into an exchange over the game.

The pair exchanged some lighthearted digs, however, it gradually escalated into an ugly row.

It started when Mohammad asked Harbhajan if he broke his TV after the match.

Harbhajan responded by posting a video from the 2010 Asia Cup, where he hit a match-winning six off Mohammad’s ball.

At the end of the tweet, Harbhajan said:

“End of the day it’s a game of cricket as you rightly said.”

Mohammad hit back with a video from a Test match between the two countries in 2006.

The video showed Harbhajan Singh bowling against Shahid Afridi and the former Pakistan captain hitting four consecutive sixes.

While the back-and-forth was supposed to be friendly, things took an ugly turn as Harbhajan did not take too kindly to the video.

In another tweet, Harbhajan reminded Mohammad Amir of his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal against England.

The scandal shocked the cricketing world and it saw Mohammad banned for five years.

Harbhajan tweeted: “How was there a no ball at Lord’s?

“How much did you take (and) who paid you? How can someone deliver a no ball in Test cricket?

“Shame on you and your other supporters for disgracing this beautiful game,”

But the war of words continued, with Mohammad using derogatory language towards Harbhajan before questioning his “illegal” bowling action.

Harbhajan’s bowling action had previously been reported but was cleared.

The Indian cricketer then took the opportunity to tweet the same videos again.

While the Twitter feud happened on October 26, 2021, Harbhajan remained unhappy with Mohammad Amir.

On the Twitter exchange, Harbhajan said:

“Who is Amir I want to know, what credentials does he have?

“He is someone who betrayed his own country and fixed the game in Lord’s.”

“He’s been talking too much about the India-Pakistan match and I gave him a befitting reply.

“Me and Shoaib Akhtar had our banter and he jumped in.

“He’s a disgrace, someone who didn’t play this game fairly. I don’t want to talk to people like this.

“I also urge the Pakistan Prime Minister to open schools for these guys where they can learn how to conduct themselves.

“These guys have no sense or class. He’s no one.”
