"all the wires were coming out of the system."
An Indian influencer detailed her terrible experience on an Air India flight from Delhi to Toronto, Canada.
Shreyti Garg, who goes by humpty02dumpty on Instagram, highlighted numerous issues despite paying Rs. 4.5 Lakh (£4,250) for tickets.
Shreyti was travelling with her husband and their two young children.
Sharing a video with her 115,000 followers, Shreyti pointed out that the in-flight entertainment system for three of their booked seats was not working.
And when it got dark, their overhead lights were not working.
This meant Shreyti had to use her phone’s torch to see what she was doing throughout the 15-hour flight.
She also revealed that broken seat handles had exposed wires. As a result, Shreyti had to protect her child.
In the video’s caption, she wrote:
“Yes! This is the service we go to after paying 4.5 lakh INR to Air India.”
Despite the hefty ticket prices, the content creator’s complaints to airline staff about the poor services went unheeded.
Although the crew attempted to reboot the system, the problems continued, leaving her family to cope with the issues.
The caption continued: “We were on an Air India flight from Delhi to Toronto, travelling with our two kids (2.5 years old and 7 months old).
“And let me share our travel experience.
“We were seated together, and unfortunately, almost everything was non-functional.
“From broken seats to no entertainment system, unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the broken seat handle and literally had to protect my toddler from getting hurt as all the wires were coming out of the system.
“And even after complaining to the crew and staff multiple times, there was no action taken.
“It seems they rebooted the system, but still, everything was not working. We were left helpless with two kids and had to manage everything on our own.
“Air India, firstly the pricing of tickets is already too high and on top of it, instead of making the journey smooth for the passengers you made it inconvenient for the parents travelling with the kids especially.”
The video racked up over 2.8 million views but Shreyti’s complaints divided viewers.

Shocked by the price, one said:
“Wouldn’t agree more on this!
“I had my round trip booked for $3,000 for just myself and this was exactly the same experience I got!! Totally not worth it.”
Another said: “Do not travel by Air India.”
However, others criticised Shreyti for complaining, with one saying:
“With Rs. 4.5 Lakh, your four family members are travelling with you all the way (DIRECTLY) without any halts.”
“What do you expect, GOD? Complaining about everything is easy, you could have spent more for premium, and I bet you if any other airlines take you directly from Delhi to Toronto at such a low price.”
Another said Indian passengers are to blame for the conditions of the aircraft.
“Don’t blame Air India, it’s the Indian passengers who really think that the Airline belongs to them and they can do whatever they want.
“I’ve had a wonderful experience flying from Mumbai to New York and back.
“I found zero issues except I found Indians making their kids sleep in the walkway, uncles doing yoga in the exit row, other uncles using the kitchen cabinets like they’re in their own kitchen; carrying bags like a coolie and stowing them where they get the space.
“The same passengers behave like a well-mannered Indian when they fly with LA, BA, EK, SQ, CX because they know that these airlines will tear their clothes off if they try to misbehave onboard.”
