"it has creaminess of cream with one third of the fat"

Yoghurt is an amazing superfood consumed for centuries. Not only because of it’s massive amounts of health benefits, but because of the huge number of flavour options it gives.

You can add it to desserts, to curries, it’s very versatile and tastes great in both sweet and savoury dishes.

Because of this, many doctors are recommending Yoghurt as a healthier alternative from ice creams and high calorie desserts.

Yoghurt is considered to be of Turkish origin. It is a great source of vitamin D, protein and calcium.

It is also an incredibly rich source of micronutrients. Which means it would be a valuable addition to anyone’s breakfast.

You can do this by adding beaten yoghurt into gravies instead of cream to reduce the fat. Or even use it to marinate meat or chicken.

Popular Indian Chef Ranveer Brar said. “Yogurt is a great super food because it has creaminess of cream with one third of the fat and the culture benefits of whey. Besides having great taste, it’s also a great substitute for dessert.”

It is commonly used to battle sweet cravings in a healthier way. Owner of Menchie’s Frozen Yoghurt- West India, Avinash Dolwani says:

“It’s true that most people reach out for something sweet and rich to uplift their mood. But doing this too often can lead to other health issues”.

That is where Menchie’s frozen yogurt comes in. It is flavorful, non fat, packed with proteins and probiotics. Compared to regular ice cream, it is-only 1/3 of the calories and it contains the probiotics which are necessary for good immunity and helps a sluggish digestion”.

Dolwani adds: “In India, yoghurt is highly symbolic and even called the ‘nectar of immortality’ as it forms the base of the ‘panchamrita’ – honey, sugar, milk, yogurt, and clarified butter. In the centuries-old recipe for ambrosia, yogurt symbolises strength and prosperity.”

So, with these health benefits in mind, try switching out the fattening cream for yoghurt and feel the results over time. It’s a healthy alternative that definitely won’t ruin your taste buds.
