"Their relationship may be low-key but it could change soon"

Ambika Mod may be basking in the success of Netflix’s One Day but her personal life is currently in the spotlight as she went public with her boyfriend Andy Sellers.

The couple were pictured putting on a loved-up display as they wrapped their arms around each other whilst on a dog walk in their local park.

Andy first appeared on Ambika’s Instagram in November 2023 where he featured in a photo dump.

The pair were riding a carousel, with Andy giving a thumbs up to the camera.

Their relationship may be low-key but it could change soon following Ambika’s portrayal as Emma in One Day and Andy’s slew of acting roles.

Also an actor, Andy made his TV debut in 2022 in an episode of All Creatures Great and Small.

He has a part in the upcoming Disney+ film Young Woman and the Sea, which stars Daisy Ridley, Lily James and Stephen Graham.

It centres on Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Ederle (Daisy), who was the first woman to swim the English Channel in 1926.

Young Woman and the Sea is set to premiere on the streaming platform in March 2024.

It will also have a May 31 theatrical release.

In addition to his film debut, Andy also has a role in the Disney+ series Playdate, adapted from Alex Dahl’s novel of the same name.

Although it is not known how Ambika and Andy met, it is possible that Playdate was the reason because it also stars Ambika.

The rising star studied at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.

Previously describing the course as “tough”, Andy said:

“I wouldn’t change it for the world; the friends I made there, the memories and experiences I have now, all of it together was the three best years of my life for sure!”

After graduating, Andy made his West End debut, understudying the roles of Joe and Simon in Touching the Void at The Duke of York’s Theatre.

He has also worked on the historical drama series Outlander.

Andy has always wanted to be an actor, admitting:

“I really am obsessed with all things acting and so I try not to think about how few other skills I have!”

On what first interested him, he said:

“I always have wanted to do it and so I guess I’m just lucky that my parents were always so supportive and never tried to discourage me away from it.

“Also, I was lucky to have some amazing teachers who took me seriously and guided me towards eventually getting into drama school.”

For Ambika Mod, she is not much of a believer when it comes to love, despite starring in the romantic drama One Day.

She previously said:

“I never really thought of myself as a romantic fan.”

“I’m very cynical about that kind of stuff – about romance, love and relationships.”

Ambika may keep her love life low-key but she credits her dating life with kickstarting her career.

She previously told Vogue: “I had arranged a Hinge date with this guy, I was so close to cancelling but I thought, ‘It’s a really nice day, I’ll just go’.

After exiting King’s Cross station, she bumped into a comedian she had worked with before. The comedian was writing for The Mash Report and Ambika was invited to be a part of a sketch.

That first TV job led to her getting signed by an agent, which resulted in her breakthrough role in This Is Going to Hurt.

She said: “If either of us had come up the station two minutes earlier or later, we would have missed each other.

“That chance encounter was the catalyst for so many big changes in my career.

“I really choose to believe in synchronicities, coincidences, patterns, meaning, and symbolism.

“And I never went out on another date with that guy.”
