the incident appeared to take place inside his office.

A principal of a private school in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed was arrested for allegedly subjecting over 45 female teachers to sexual abuse.

Irfan Ghafoor Memon allegedly raped the women or coerced them into sex.

He then used CCTV footage that showed the sexual encounters to blackmail them.

In addition to his arrest, police officers also recovered approximately 25 video clips from Memon’s phone.

The police seized the digital video recorder (DVR) of the CCTV cameras as well as Memon’s mobile phone for investigation.

His arrest came after an explicit video of Memon and a female teacher was leaked.

Although unconfirmed, the incident appeared to take place inside his office.

After his arrest, his office was cordoned off and he was remanded for seven days.

When he found out the video had circulated online, Memon demanded the authorities to give him capital punishment.

The principal also claimed he was embarrassed about his actions.

Despite the leaked video showing him with a female colleague, Memon claimed no school workers were in the seized clips.

According to police, Memon said he rented the school for Rs. 100,000 per month (£260), adding there were around 10 female teachers, five male teachers and 250 students.

An FIR was filed against Memon, accusing him of sexual harassment and blackmail.

An investigating officer said Memon would sexually abuse female teachers on the pretext of offering them a job.

The officer said: “The accused used to blackmail the women by filming videos.”

Under the orders of Sindh Education Minister Rana Hussain, the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh constituted a committee to investigate the matter.

The committee comprises of Deputy Director Qurban Ali Bhutto and assistant directors Javed Akhtar and Mumtaz Hussain Qambrani.

The investigating officer also revealed that the police have identified at least two more suspects who might have videos of the victims, adding that they will be arrested soon.

Senior Superintendent of Police Malir Hassan Sardar said that over five women have come forward, accusing Memon of sexual abuse.

SSP Sardar said:

“So far, five women have come forward as victims of the suspect who is currently under investigation.”

“We are also gathering necessary information from the victims as well.”

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Nazir Abro said that the district administration will investigate the incident and will also contact the education department so that the students can continue their education.
