Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have reportedly received death threats from an unidentified person on social media.

The Mumbai Police has said that a case has been registered against the man.

The Bollywood couple were recently in the Maldives for Katrina’s birthday.

It is alleged that a man had been stalking Katrina on social media.

Vicky tried to tell the man to stop, however, he continued. The suspect also allegedly posted threatening messages against the couple.

As a result, Vicky filed a police complaint.

A tweet from ANI read: “Police register a case against an unidentified man and initiate an investigation for allegedly giving life threats to actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal through social media.

“Case registered at Santacruz Police Station: Mumbai Police.”

Another tweet read: “Case registered at Santacruz PS on complaint of Vicky Kaushal u/s 506(2),354(D) IPC r/w sec 67 IT Act.

“He complained that one person has been threatening and posting threat messages on Instagram.

“He stated that the accused has also been stalking his wife and threatening her.”

An investigation is underway and a suspect has since been arrested.

He was identified as Manvinder Singh, a struggling actor.

It is believed that he was smitten with Katrina and would post edited videos and pictures of himself with her on social media.

But her marriage to Vicky Kaushal upset him.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal are not the only Bollywood stars who have received threats in recent times.

Most notably, Salman Khan and his father Salim were threatened. A letter addressed to them said they would meet the same fate as Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead in May 2022.

Following the incident, Salman and his family’s security were enhanced.

According to investigators, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang wanted to extort money from Bollywood celebrities.

Salman has now applied for a weapon licence, meeting with Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar at his office.

Swara Bhasker also received a death threat. Police subsequently registered a case against an unknown suspect and launched an investigation.

According to officers, a letter was sent to Swara’s home. Afterwards, she went to Versova Police Station and filed a complaint.

The letter continued abuse and threatening remarks against Swara.

It mentioned that the youth of the country will not tolerate the insult of Veer Savarkar. The suspect signed the letter off as:

“Is desh ke naujawan” (youth of this country).
