"You guys are in for a bloody surprise."
Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) made his debut in ITV’s Emmerdale on March 18, 2025.
Since then, the character has won the hearts of the audience with his charm and hopeful romances.
Shebz recently spoke about a promising meeting he had with Emmerdale producers, and teased an interesting new storyline for Kammy.
He said: “You guys are in for a bloody surprise, I’ll tell you that! Obviously it’s a hot topic at the moment with Kammy.
“Everyone’s always asking me, ‘When do we get to learn more about him and understand what’s happening?’
“For the first part of my journey at Emmerdale, we were still snowballing ideas back and forth.
“Myself, the producers, the writers, we were all trying to understand what’s going on.
“However, I have just come back from a chat with the producer and what she said to me is something that I didn’t imagine. I was like, ‘Okay, this is going to be interesting!’
“We do look into Kammy’s past and we are going to learn more about his family history.
“Honestly, it was a mixture of emotions. There was a lot of relief, there was happiness, but then there is also a tragic side to it as well.
“There’s some tragedy in there, but it all makes sense. There’s a reason why he’s so cheery and charismatic.”
Shebz also suggested that Kammy may have a role to play in the potential romance between Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches).
“I think Kammy really values friendships and relationships as well.
“We’ll start to understand later on why Kammy really values it, which is a spoiler for the future, I guess.
“Because Kammy has found this friendship and innocence with Vinny, I think he really cherishes that.
“Kammy almost wants to be the protector for Vinny.
“Kammy’s an empath anyway and because he’s found this friendship with Vinny – someone that he probably wouldn’t [usually] associate with – they’ve got this connection and this deep loyalty towards each other.
“So I think because Kammy is protective, he ultimately wants to make sure that whatever Vinny’s decisions are, whatever he does, he is happier.
“That is his thinking at the forefront of it all.”
When he first joined Emmerdale as Kammy Hadiq, Shebz had commented:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale.
“Everyone has been so welcoming and I already feel like a part of the family.
“I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better job.
“The character is such an exciting one to play and Kammy will definitely ruffle a few feathers.
“But he does have the gift of the gab so although he causes a lot of mischief, I think it will be hard not to like him.”
