Anne-Marie, who receives over two million monthly listeners in India, said she was excited about meeting “the beautiful people, the food, the culture”.

She wants to visit India again and specifically visit Goa.

Anne-Marie said: “I would love to come back and visit Goa – everyone said it’s incredible.”

She added that she “ate so much” during her visit to India.

“I had a mix of everything, I wanted to try as much as possible! Spicy, but incredible!”

Speaking about working on ‘Peaches’, the singer said:

“I just did a track with Diljit Dosanjh, who I love.

“He played me a lot of his favourite Indian music and I shared some of my favourite British music [with him]. It was so cool to share.

“I loved it – the culture from India is pretty magical, so vivid and unique.”

The collaboration happened after meeting each other in London. Praising Diljit, Anne said:

“We met in London when he came over and it was so much fun.

“I loved him and I loved sharing our music with each other. His voice is just insane, just so beautiful.”

Despite the contrasting music styles, Anne said the combination makes for a unique creation.

“It was amazing! Collaborations are so fun when you get to bridge two different styles and make something new from it. I learnt so much and he was lovely.”

Following the successful collaboration with Diljit, Anne-Marie hopes to work with Indian hip-hop artists.

“I would love to do something within the Indian hip-hop community. Desi hip-hop is really cool and rightfully thriving.”

On social media and music coming together, Anne-Marie said:

“I think every artist is different but it definitely can be an amazing and rewarding tool to bring you together with your fans.

“I try to be as honest and open in my music as I can be; it’s like a diary to me so to get to see it connect with people first-hand is the most special feeling in the world.”

Since entering the music world, Anne-Marie has released hits such as ‘Rockabye’, ‘Friends’ and ‘2002’.
