Divorce rumours continue to swirl after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the Global Women’s Forum in Dubai.
The Bollywood icon passionately addressed women’s empowerment.
Aishwarya commended the panellists for their efforts in creating a more inclusive future across diverse fields.
While Aishwarya’s speech was inspiring, a lot of attention was on a screen in the background.
It read: “Aishwarya Rai | International Star.”
The omission of ‘Bachchan’ led some social media users to believe Aishwarya had dropped her surname, especially amid divorce rumours between her and Abhishek Bachchan.
Many believed a split had already happened and that a “weight had been lifted” from Aishwarya’s shoulders.
One wrote: “She kind of looks happy here and it’s almost like so much weight has been removed from her heart and own self.”
Another said: “I know they are separated, but that made me sad.
“Apparently she didn’t have her surname too when she won the best actress award last month.”
A third added: “Glad to see her finally coming out of the ‘Bachchan’ shadows and owning it. She now looks more like her old self.”

On the other hand, others felt too much was being read into the screen’s display, with one commenting:
“Why do I think it was not intended? Maybe the organisers did not care about this detail.

“She is very traditional and will never get a divorce or announce it.”
Although there was speculation that Aishwarya had dropped ‘Bachchan’, her Instagram profile remains Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
It is reported that the Global Women’s Forum organisers only used her maiden name for professional representation.
Speculation surrounding Aishwarya and Abhishek’s marriage has been a topic of discussion for a while.
The buzz intensified after they made separate appearances at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in July 2024.
Photos shared by Aishwarya from her daughter Aaradhya’s recent birthday celebration didn’t include any Bachchan family members, including Abhishek, raising further questions among fans.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan reacted to the rumours.
In his blog, he gave his thoughts but he did not mention Abhishek or Aishwarya.
