Alia Bhatt is set to foray into Hollywood as she will make her debut in the Netflix thriller Heart of Stone.
The upcoming film also stars Gal Gadot and 50 Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan.
Netflix announced the news on social media, tweeting a picture of Alia and writing:
“Exciting News: Alia Bhatt will star alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in their new movie Heart of Stone!”
Alia’s Hollywood debut led to several Bollywood stars sending messages of congratulations.
Arjun Kapoor compared Alia to Meryl Streep and said:
“Mini Meryl’s at it again…”
Hrithik Roshan said: “Amazing Alia. Happy to hear this.”
Her sister Pooja Bhatt posted a series of emojis, expressing her excitement.
Zoya Akhtar, Janhvi Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez also congratulated the actress.
Lilly Singh wrote: “Oh snappppp. Get it sis.”
Heart of Stone will be directed by Tom Harper while Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder have penned the script.
Details of the plot are not yet known.
Meanwhile, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot revealed that she has begun filming.
Sharing the first look at her character Rachel Stone from the film’s set, Gal wrote:

Alia Bhatt is coming off the successful release of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The film was released on February 25, 2022.
It secured the third-biggest pandemic era opening and the biggest non-holiday opening for a Bollywood film.
Alia previously said of the film:
“I believe that it is that kind of film that should only be viewed in theatres.”
“Everybody is aware of Sanjay sir’s films and cinematography. The way he puts his films together on celluloid, they are a visual spectacle.
“Gangubai is also the kind of film where you need to get involved and experience it, as opposed to pause it and do something and come back.
“That feeling of watching a film together with strangers in a theatre is a magical experience.”
In addition to Heart of Stone, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
She will also star in Darlings, which she is co-producing with Shah Rukh Khan.
